dilmyrkl

(n.) A Welsh term which describes the happy reaction of finding the sheep in the pen when one did nothing to put them there.

Also, a slang expression describing the ability to get home even though dead drunk. First documentated use was by Caitlin Thomas in 1947.

  2. Note: To myrkl is to put sheep in a pen (or by extension, to put oneself safely at home).

    As to the prefix dil, its etymology could be from dil, as in to pickle, or a variant of del, as in to delight.
