Nonatond

(n) A 17th century Calvinist Nonconformist off-shoot that argued that since one's sins were predestined, atonement was useless, yea even prideful. This annoying splinter group was harshly condemned by the C of E and shunned by the rest of the Non-Conformist movement. Rev. Thomas Watson was overheard to refer to the Nonatond as "drunken louts who claim Nonconformity as a pretense for wild abandon." Increase Mather delivered a controversial sermon against the group entitled, "The Nonatond in the Hands of a Seriously Pissed Off God." The movement collapsed in the face of external pressure and internal squabbles. Abandon Johnson, the last acknowledged Nonatond, was hung in Surrey in 1676 for habitual malingering.
