lastroph

(n.) poetic form unique to the Annumpi where the last line of each five line verse must rhyme with the name of a spoltal.

Weary Ruback,  heavy with kits,
her broad hooves splashing muck on my gesconat,
her splotched and spotted coat covered in mud,
we fought our way through the teeming rain
to reach the safety of the humble birthing shack.

  1. Huh, I could have sworn this was from a work by Alexander Pope that I read in college.

  2. Personally, I thought it sounded like a bit of Longfellow.

  3. Probably a better choice but The Rape of the Lock just leaped into my mind as soon as I read it.

  4. I was going for Wordsworth. Frack.
